Today, the broader indices, NSE Nifty50 and BSE Sensex, ended the day in the green. The Nifty50 began trading at 21,825, hitting intraday highs and lows of 21,951.40 and 21,737.55 respectively, and finally closed at 21,929, marking a surge of around 158 points or 0.72% compared to the previous day’s closing level of 21,771.70. Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex opened at 71,970.82 and finally concluded at 72,186, reflecting a rally of around 455 points or 0.63% higher compared to Monday’s levels of 71,731.

Among the sectoral indices, the Nifty Oil and Gas and the Nifty IT index emerged as the top gainers, rallying around 2.67% and 2.92% compared to the previous day’s closing levels. Meanwhile, both the Nifty PSU banks and Nifty Private Banks indices closed as the top losers today. In the Nifty 50 space, the top gainers were BPCL, HDFC Life, and TCS, surging around 6.2%, 5.12%, and 4.40% respectively.
