Benchmark indices, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty50 started the week strong, both rising over 1%. The market was boosted by the BJP-led coalition’s big win in the Maharashtra Assembly elections and positive trends in global markets.
The BSE Sensex surged 1,961.32 points (2.54%) to close at 80,109.85 after touching an intraday high of 80,473.08. Similarly, the NSE Nifty50 gained 314.65 points (1.32%) to end at 24,221.90, with an intraday peak of 24,351.55.

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation share price closed today at ₹259.05, marking a rise of 5.48%. In Q2 FY25 results, the company reported a 17.1% annual growth in profit to ₹11,984 crore for Q2FY25, compared to ₹10,238 crore in Q2FY24. However, the company’s gross revenue declined 3.6% year-on-year to ₹33,881 crore in Q2FY25, down from ₹35,162 crore in Q2FY24.
Bharat Electronics share price closed today at ₹293, marking a rise of 4.33%. Over the past year, the stock has reached a 52-week high of ₹340.50 and a low of ₹137.35.
Larsen and Toubro share price closed today at ₹3,757.00, marking a rise of 4.26%. Larsen & Toubro (L&T) reported a 5.4% year-on-year (Y-o-Y) increase in net profit, reaching ₹3,395.3 crore in Q2FY25, compared to ₹3,223 crore in Q2FY24. The company’s revenue from operations surged by 20.6% annually to ₹61,554.6 crore, up from ₹51,024 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year.
Bharat Petroleum Corporation share price closed today at ₹297.3, marking a rise of 4.01%. The company posted a net profit of ₹2,397 crore for the July-September quarter. Sequentially, the net profit dropped by 20.5%.
Shriram Finance share price closed today at ₹2,957.65, marking a rise of 3.78%. Shriram Finance reported a 16.37% rise in net interest income (NII) for the second quarter ending September 30, 2024, reaching ₹5,606.74 crore compared to ₹4,818.18 crore in the same quarter last year. Profit after tax (PAT) grew by 18.30% to ₹2,071.26 crore from ₹1,750.84 crore a year ago.
