TVS Supply Chain Solutions Limited (TVS SCS), a leading player in the Indian logistics landscape, has further strengthened its long-standing partnership with VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) by securing a new three-year contract. The company signed an agreement with VECV to manage the in-plant warehousing and logistics operations at VECV’s Eicher bus factory in Baggad, Madhya Pradesh.

History of Collaboration

The new contract builds upon a successful 18-year partnership between the two companies. Since 2006, TVS SCS has successfully managed the in-plant logistics operations for VECV’s Truck Plant in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh. This enduring collaboration has not only benefited both companies but has also contributed to the local economy by creating over 1,200 job opportunities within Madhya Pradesh.

Optimising Bus Production Efficiency

Under the terms of the new agreement, TVS SCS will assume responsibility for a range of critical logistical functions at the Eicher bus factory. These services include:

  • Seamless Inward Operations: Ensuring the timely receipt of parts is crucial for maintaining efficient production lines. TVS SCS will implement a streamlined system for receiving parts, minimising delays and disruptions.
  • Efficient Storage and Picking: TVS SCS will manage the efficient storage and picking of parts within the facility. By utilising a well-defined warehousing system and leveraging Production Planning Control (PPC) data, TVS SCS will ensure parts are readily available when needed on the assembly lines.
  • Delivery to Assembly Lines: TVS SCS will deliver parts to designated assembly lines based on Bill of Material (BOM) requirements. This ensures a steady flow of materials, allowing the production process to operate at peak efficiency.

“We are delighted to further strengthen our partnership with VECV by extending our services to their bus plant operations. This win is a testament to our process-driven approach and reflects our commitment to delivering exceptional services through tech-enabled solutions. We are confident that our capability to provide end-to-end solutions will improve the production efficiency of our customers,” said Mr K. Sukumar, CEO of TVS Supply Chain Solutions India.

“The extension of our business opportunity to TVS SCS at our VECV Baggad plant underscores the shared commitment of both companies to achieving strategic objectives and desired outcomes, further solidifying the foundation for continued growth and operational excellence,” said Mr B Srinivas – EVP, VE Commercial Vehicles.
