Upper Circuit Stocks Today – 11 January, 2024

Despite opening the trading session on a higher note, Indian benchmark indices trimmed some of the initial gains. Despite losses in capital goods and industrial sector stocks, the market witnessed a positive push from substantial gains in the auto, consumer durables, energy, utilities and financial services sectors, attempting to improve overall market sentiment. With 2,404 shares rising on the BSE and 1,267 shares declining, the advance-decline ratio strongly remained in favour of advances.

Top gainers and losers on the BSE Sensex index are as follows: 

At 11:55 am, the BSE Sensex advanced 0.19%, reaching a level of 71,797. The Nifty 50 index gained 0.23% to the 21,669 level. On the Sensex, IndusInd Bank, Axis Bank and Maruti Suzuki were among the top gainers, whereas Infosys, Nestle India and JSW Steel were among the market draggers.

The broader indices exhibited a significant outperformance compared to the main indices. The BSE Mid-cap index showed an upward trend, reaching 37,743 levels and recording a gain of 0.67%, whereas the BSE Small-cap index experienced a surge of 0.77%. Leading the mid-cap gains were Solar Industries India Ltd and ICICI Securities Ltd, while Kalyani Steels Ltd and Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd emerged as the top small-cap gainers.
