On Friday, the benchmark indices were trading in the green with the Sensex up around 740 points or 0.38% at 72,390 while the Nifty-50 up around 229 points or 1.05% at 2. About 2,337 shares have advanced, 1,240 declined and 155 are unchanged on the BSE.

The top Sensex gainers were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, Infosys Ltd and NTPC Ltd whereas the top Sensex losers were Larsen & Toubro Ltd, Ultratech Cements Ltd and Bajaj Finance Ltd.
The indices in the broader markets were trading higher, with the BSE Mid-cap index up 1.10% and the BSE Small-cap index up 1.05%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were SJVN Ltd and NHPC Ltd while the top small-cap gainers were Texmaco Infrastructure & Holdings Ltd and Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.
All the sectoral indices were trading in green with The BSE Oil & Gas Index and BSE Power Index being the top gainers. The BSE Oil & Gas Index gained by 2.55%, up by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd and the BSE Power Index is up by 2.52% led by NHPC Ltd and Suzlon Energy Ltd.
