The top Sensex gainers were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd, Power Grid Corporation Ltd and Larsen & Toubro Ltd whereas the top Sensex losers were ICICI Bank, Bajaj FinServ Ltd and Bajaj Finance Ltd.
The indices in the broader markets were trading in the green, with the BSE Mid-cap index up 0.50% and the BSE Small-cap index up 0.38%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd and SJVN Ltd while the top small-cap gainers were Uniparts India Ltd and Ganesh Housing Corporation Ltd.
The BSE Realty Index was the top gaining among the sectorial indices and the BSE Oil & Gas Index was the top losing sector. The BSE Realty Index soared 0.85% led by Swan Energy Ltd and Macrotech Developers Ltd while the BSE Oil & Gas Index was down 0.32% dragged down by Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Ltd and Adani Total Gas Ltd.
