On Tuesday, the benchmark indices were trading lower with the Sensex down around 150 points or 0.23% at 63,964 and the Nifty-50 down around 42 points or 0.21% at 19,100. About 1,965 shares have advanced, 1,413 declined, and 144 are unchanged on the BSE.

Top gainers and losers on the BSE Sensex index are as follows:

The top Sensex gainers were Asian Paints Ltd, Tata Motors Ltd and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd whereas the top Sensex losers were Tech Mahindra Ltd, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd and Sun Pharmaceuticals Ltd.

The indices in the broader markets were trading higher, with the BSE Mid-cap index up 0.40% and the BSE Small-cap index up 0.36%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Health Care Ltd and Crisil Ltd while the top small-cap gainers were Apollo Micro-Systems Ltd and Hi-Tech Pipes Ltd.

The BSE Realty Index was the top gaining among the sectorial indices and the BSE Oil & Gas Index was the top losing sector. The BSE Realty Index soared 1.21% led by Sobha Ltd and Macrotech Developers Ltd while the BSE Oil & Gas Index was down 0.75% dragged down by Petronet LNG Ltd and Gail (India) Ltd.

In the pre-opening session, these 3 stocks were trending: Macrotech Developers Ltd, MMTC Ltd and Action Construction Equipment Ltd.
