On Monday, the benchmark indices were trading lower with the Sensex down around 111 points or 0.15% at 71,933 while the Nifty-50 down around 28 points or 0.14% at 21,683. About 1,747 shares have advanced, 1,549 declined, and 108 are unchanged on the BSE.

Top gainers and losers on the BSE Sensex index are as follows:

The top Sensex gainers were Tata Motors Ltd, NTPC Ltd and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd whereas the top Sensex losers were ITC Ltd, Tech Mahindra Ltd and Hindustan Unilever Ltd.

The indices in the broader markets were trading lower, with the BSE Mid-cap index down 0.50% and the BSE Small-cap index down 0.40%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were Macrotech Developers Ltd and Godrej Industries Ltd while the top small-cap gainers were Alok Industries Ltd and Vikas Lifecare Ltd.

The BSE Oil & Gas Index was the top gaining among the sectorial indices and the BSE FMCG Index was the top losing sector. The BSE Oil & Gas Index soared 0.55% led by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd while the BSE FMCG Index was down 1.10% dragged down by DCM Shriram Industries Ltd and Adani Wilmar Ltd.
