The top Sensex gainers were Sun Pharmaceuticals Industries Ltd, Bajaj FinServ Ltd and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, whereas the top Sensex losers were Wipro Ltd, State Bank of India Ltd and HCL Technologies Ltd.
The BSE Capital Goods Index was the top gaining among the sectorial indices and BSE Metals Index was the top losing sector. The BSE Capital Index soared 1.45%, led by Polycab India Ltd and ABB India Ltd while the BSE Metals Index was down 0.04% dragged down by JSW Steel Ltd and Vedanta Ltd.
The indices in the broader markets were trading higher, with the BSE Mid-cap index up 0.83% and the BSE Small-cap index up 0.74%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were Tata Communications Ltd and Bharat Electricals Ltd, while the top small-cap gainers were Car Trade Tech Ltd and PCBL Ltd.
