The Indian headline indices opened the session on a cheerful note, reflecting robust investor sentiment in broader markets. Energy, utilities, power, consumer durables, and information technology sectors exhibited resilience, while capital goods and industrial sector stocks recorded minor losses. The indices later underwent a notable downturn, reducing some of the initial gains.

At 10:45 am, the BSE Sensex gained 0.18%, reaching a level of 71,783. The Nifty 50 index added 0.17% to the 21,654 level. On the Sensex, IndusInd Bank, Tech Mahindra and Tata Consultancy Services were among the top gainers, whereas Infosys, Nestle India and UltraTech Cement Company were among the market draggers.

Samhi Hotels Ltd

Shares experienced significant buying activity, leading to a 7% surge, reaching a 52-week high of Rs 190.90 per share on the BSE. The company stands as a prominent figure in India’s hospitality sector. It boasts enduring affiliations with three renowned and top-tier hotel brands and operators, namely Marriott, IHG, and Hyatt.

Evoq Remedies Ltd

The trading volume for Evoq Remedies Ltdshares witnessed a twelvefold increase, hitting a new 52-week high of Rs 19.44 on the BSE. The company operates in the marketing, trading, and distribution of diverse pharmaceutical formulation products. Additionally, it engages in the trading of active pharmaceutical ingredients, nutraceuticals, ayurvedic, and herbal products.

Polycab India Ltd

Shares faced intense selling pressure following reports of Income Tax department raids, leading to a steep decline of over 18% today. Polycab, a leading manufacturer in India, specializes in cables, wires, and related products, including uPVC conduits, lugs, and glands.

Shiva Cement Ltd

Shares recorded a rally of more than 15% today, driven by heightened buying interest. The company is actively involved in the manufacturing and sale of cement and clinker, along with the trading of related products.
