Today’s trading session began with domestic indices slightly lower, impacted by losses in the information technology, telecommunications, and banking sectors. However, the BSE Mid-cap Index showed significant outperformance compared to the main indices, the BSE Small-cap Index notably tumbled.

At 10:00 am, the BSE Sensex declined 0.16% reaching a level of 74,001. The Nifty 50 index fell 0.13% to the 22,464 level. On the Sensex, UltraTech Cement, Bajaj Finserv and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries were among the top gainers, whereas Tata Steel, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Power Grid Corporation of India were among the market draggers.

Some of the noteworthy volume movers are as follows:

  1. Interglobe Aviation Ltd

    Interglobe Aviation Ltd experienced a significant surge in trading volume, with shares trading slightly lower after hitting an intraday low of Rs 3,015 per share on the BSE. As the leading player in India’s aviation sector and a prominent passenger airline functioning as a low-cost carrier, the company delivers a simple, unbundled service to passengers, aligning with its core brand commitment of offering ‘low fares, on-time flights, and courteous, hassle-free service’ to its clientele.

  2. HBL Power Systems Ltd

    Despite experiencing a substantial rise in trading volume, shares of HBL Power Systems Ltd faced considerable selling pressure, leading to a steep decline of over 8% to an intraday low of Rs 428.50 per share on the BSE. The company specializes in the manufacturing and servicing of various types of batteries, e-mobility solutions, and other products, primarily focusing on electronics, batteries, and defence sectors.

  3. Kalpataru Projects International Ltd

    Shares of Kalpataru Projects International Ltd experienced a two-fold surge in trading volume, leading to a climb of over 7% to reach a 52-week high of Rs 1,135.45 per share on the BSE. The company is recognized as a global EPC player with diversified interests spanning power transmission and distribution, oil and gas pipeline, railways, and biomass-based power generation.
