Despite commencing the trading session with a notable flat performance, domestic indices experienced a significant decline later, while broader markets encountered substantial selling pressure. At 10.25 am, the BSE Sensex declined 0.49%, reaching a level of 71,241. The Nifty 50 index fell 0.56% to the 21,660 level. On the Sensex, Wipro, HCL Technologies and Infosys were among the top gainers, whereas NTPC Ltd, Power Grid Corporation of India and State Bank of India were among the market draggers.

Some of the noteworthy volume movers are as follows: 

Hindustan Foods Ltd: Shares experienced a 70-fold increase in trading volume, propelling them to achieve positive momentum and reach an intraday high of Rs 564 per share on the BSE. The company specializes in contract manufacturing across a range of FMCG products, encompassing food, home care, personal care, beverages, and more.

Anuh Pharma Ltd: Shares witnessed a sixfold surge in trading volume, driving a 20% gain to reach a 52-week high of Rs 206.10 on the BSE today. As a leading bulk drugs manufacturing company, it stands as one of India’s largest producers of macrolides and anti-TB products, alongside playing a significant role in anti-bacterial and anti-malarial medications.

Star Cement Ltd: Shares encountered a fivefold surge in volume and surged to reach a 52-week high of Rs 219.45 on the BSE. The company is involved in the manufacturing and distribution of cement clinker & cement, catering to markets across the northeastern and eastern regions of India.

TRF Ltd: With significant buying interest, shares climbed nearly 10% to achieve a 52-week high of Rs 475.80 on the BSE. The company specializes in turnkey projects related to material handling within the infrastructure sector. Additionally, it is involved in the production of material handling equipment and offers services encompassing design, engineering, and supervision.
