After struggling in the initial trades today, Indian headline indices gained positive momentum and edged closer to their recent record highs. The broader indices significantly outperformed the main indices. Notable gainers included the energy, oil & gas, consumer durables, capital goods and telecommunication sectors. The BSE Information Technology Index was the sole losing index today.

At 10:50 am, the BSE Sensex gained 0.15% reaching a level of 76,929. The Nifty 50 index added 0.20% to the 23,446 level. On the Sensex, Mahindra & Mahindra, HDFC Bank and Axis Bank were among the top gainers, whereas Tech Mahindra, HCL Technologies and Tata Consultancy Services were among the market draggers.

Some of the noteworthy volume movers are as follows:

  1. Aptus Value Housing Finance India Ltd

    Shares of Aptus Value Housing Finance India Ltd experienced a 29-fold increase in trading volume, gaining more than 2% to achieve an intraday high of Rs 353.10 per share on the BSE. Aptus Value Housing Finance, a home loan company, is dedicated to meeting the housing finance needs of self-employed individuals and low to middle-income families, particularly in semi-urban and rural areas.

  2. NOCIL Ltd

    Shares of NOCIL Ltd saw a 26-fold surge in trading volume today, rising slightly to reach an intraday high of Rs 272.60 per share on the BSE. The company manufactures rubber chemicals used by the tyre industry and other rubber processing industries, including pre-vulcanisation inhibitors and post-vulcanisation stabilizers.

  3. ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Ltd

    Shares of ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Ltd witnessed a six-fold rise in trading volume, climbing more than 5% to reach a 52-week high of Rs 1,750.45 per share on the BSE. It is a leading and well-established private sector general insurance company in India, offering a diverse array of products and risk management solutions through various distribution channels.
