The oil & gas, energy, power, and capital goods sectors made significant strides in attempting to bolster market sentiment with noticeable gains. However, domestic indices were trading lower, affected by declines in the information technology, banking, and FMCG sectors.

At 10:35 am, the BSE Sensex fell 0.35% reaching a level of 72,576. The Nifty 50 index declined 0.25% to the 22,040 level. On the Sensex, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv and Tata Motors were among the top gainers, whereas Power Grid Corporation of India, Maruti Suzuki and UltraTech Cement Company were among the market draggers.

Some of the noteworthy volume movers are as follows:

  1. Mankind Pharma Ltd

    Shares of Mankind Pharma Ltd experienced a staggering 40-fold increase in trading volume, dropping by over 3% today to reach an intraday low of Rs 2,141 per share on the BSE. The company is involved in the development, manufacturing, and marketing of pharmaceutical formulations across various acute and chronic therapeutic sectors, as well as numerous consumer healthcare products.

  2. Deep Industries Ltd

    Deep Industries Ltd saw a remarkable 13-fold rise in trading volume, propelling its shares to climb by more than 14% in a market that was otherwise subdued, reaching a 52-week high of Rs 331.20 per share on the BSE. The company primarily operates in the oil and gas field services sector, specializing in offering a range of services including air & gas compression services, drilling and workover services, gas dehydration services, and more.

  3. Vedanta Ltd

    Shares of Vedanta Ltd experienced an eight-fold surge in trading volume but were trading relatively unchanged, hovering near an intraday high of Rs 272.75 per share on the BSE. The company, a diversified natural resource group, is involved in exploring, extracting, and processing minerals, as well as oil & gas. The group’s activities encompass the exploration, production, and sale of zinc, lead, silver, copper, aluminium, iron ore, and oil & gas.
