Domestic indices started today’s trading session lower but fluctuated between modest gains and losses. The metals, healthcare, and telecommunication sectors reported notable gains, while the information technology and auto sectors were among the market laggards. Broader indices significantly outperformed the main indices.

At 10:00 am, the BSE Sensex gained 0.18% reaching a level of 78,818. The Nifty 50 index added 0.19% to the 23,913 level. On the Sensex, UltraTech Cement Company, JSW Steel and Tata Steel were among the top gainers, whereas Mahindra & Mahindra, HCL Technologies and Tech Mahindra were among the market draggers.

Some of the noteworthy volume movers are as follows:

  1. Styrenix Performance Materials Ltd

    Shares of Styrenix Performance Materials Ltd experienced a significant surge in trading volume today, plummeting over 8% to an intraday low of Rs 1,860 per share on the BSE. The company produces Absolac and Absolan in India. Absolac is a plastic resin used in the manufacturing of home appliances, automobiles, consumer durables, and machinery. The company also manufactures Polystyrene, which is used for food service and packaging, refrigerator components, and electronic goods housings.

  2. Archean Chemical Industries Ltd

    Shares of Archean Chemical Industries Ltd faced heightened selling pressure and tumbled more than 4%, reaching an intraday low of Rs 658 per share on the BSE. The company is India’s leading specialty marine chemical manufacturer, specializing in the production and export of bromine, industrial salt, and sulphate of potash to customers worldwide.

  3. India Cements Ltd

    Shares of India Cements Ltd experienced heavy buying interest, climbing around 14% to reach a 52-week high of Rs 299 per share on the BSE. Headquartered in Chennai, India Cements is a leading cement manufacturing company. While cement remains its core business, the company has diversified into related fields such as shipping, captive power, and coal mining, creating purposeful synergies with its main operations.
