Domestic markets kicked off the week with a bang, as benchmark indices soared to new record highs on the bourses. Capital goods, energy, banks, and financial services led the gains, while telecommunications, consumer durables, and FMCG sector stocks saw some losses. Notably, the broader indices significantly outperformed the main indices.

At 10:25 am, the BSE Sensex surged 0.29% reaching a level of 81,565. The Nifty 50 index gained 0.23% to the 24,892 level. On the Sensex, Larsen & Toubro, State Bank of India and ICICI Bank were among the top gainers, whereas Titan, Bharti Airtel and Tech Mahindra were among the market draggers.

Some of the noteworthy volume movers are as follows:

  1. Cupid Ltd

    Shares of Cupid Ltd experienced a remarkable 43-fold increase in trading volume today, driven by significant buying interest. Consequently, the stock hit the 5% upper circuit at Rs 92.09 per share on the BSE. Cupid Ltd specializes in the production, marketing, and sale of rubber contraceptives and related prophylactic products.

  2. Voltas Ltd

    Shares of Voltas Ltd saw a twelvefold rise in trading volume, gaining positive momentum and rising around 2% to reach an intraday high of Rs 1,526 per share on the BSE. Voltas Ltd operates in the air conditioning and refrigeration sector, and undertakes electro-mechanical projects as an EPC contractor both domestically and internationally. The company also provides engineering product services for the mining, water management and treatment, construction equipment, and textile industries.

  3. Lotus Chocolate Company Ltd

    Shares of Lotus Chocolate Company Ltd experienced a twelve-time surge in trading volume and were locked at the 5% upper circuit, reaching a new 52-week high of Rs 1,035.05 per share on the BSE. The company is one of India’s premier manufacturers of high-quality chocolates, cocoa products, and cocoa derivatives. Its products are sold to chocolate manufacturers and consumers worldwide, ranging from local bakeries to multinational corporations.
