The Indian benchmark indices extended their downtrend, trading considerably lower, with the information technology and metal stocks bearing the major impact of the decline. However, there were attempts to buoy the indices from the utilities, power, and oil & gas sectors, which showed notable gains. The broader indices outperformed the main indices by a considerable margin.

At 11:10 am, the BSE Sensex fell 0.44%, reaching a level of 71,573. The Nifty 50 index declined 0.47% to the 21,564 level. On the Sensex, ITC Ltd, Bharti Airtel and State Bank of India were among the top gainers, whereas JSW Steel, Wipro and Tech Mahindra were among the market draggers.

Inox Wind Energy Ltd

Experiencing a sevenfold increase in trading volume, the shares were locked at the 5% upper circuit, reaching a fresh 52-week high of Rs 6,250 per share on the BSE. The company is involved in the production and sale of wind energy, offering services for the erection, procurement, and commissioning (EPC) of wind farms, and maintains strategic business interests in renewable energy.

Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd

Following the Supreme Court’s verdict on petitions requesting an investigation into fraud allegations against Adani Group companies, all Adani Group stocks have experienced a significant rally. There has been robust buying interest, propelling the shares of Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd to a fresh 52-week high of Rs 1,144 on the BSE.

Adani Enterprises Ltd

With a fourfold surge in trading volume, the shares rose by over 9%, reaching an intraday high of Rs 3,199 on the BSE. Adani Enterprises Ltd, a company with diverse business interests, is engaged in various economic sectors including mining, integrated resources management, infrastructure such as airports, roads, rail, water, data centres, solar manufacturing, agro, and defence.
