Indian benchmark indices reached new record highs today, with the BSE Sensex crossing the 80,000 level for the first time. Gains were led by the banking, financial services, consumer durables, and telecommunications sectors, while the BSE Information Technology and BSE Oil & Gas indices were the only ones to decline.

At 10:30 am, the BSE Sensex surged 0.68% reaching a level of 79,981. The Nifty 50 index climbed 0.66% to the 24,282 level. On the Sensex, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank and ICICI Bank were among the top gainers, whereas Tata Consultancy Services, Reliance Industries and HCL Technologies were among the market draggers.

Some of the noteworthy volume movers are as follows:

  1. New Swan Multitech Ltd

    Shares of New Swan Multitech Ltd, amid heavy buying interest, were locked at the 20% upper circuit, reaching Rs 96.64 per share on the BSE today. The company manufactures precision-engineered components and parts for the automotive industry and modern farming sectors. Its automotive product portfolio includes assembly engine hangers, hinge body covers, fuel filler cap components, main stand complete assemblies, engine guard plates, and various other essential parts for two-wheeler vehicles.

  2. G M Breweries Ltd

    Shares of G M Breweries Ltd experienced a fivefold surge in trading volume today, climbing over 15% to hit a 52-week high of Rs 918 per share on the BSE. The company, which produces and markets alcoholic beverages including Country Liquor (CL) and Indian-made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), is one of the largest manufacturers of country liquor in Maharashtra, holding a significant market share.

  3. KEC International Ltd

    Shares of KEC International Ltd saw heightened buying interest today, soaring more than 7% to reach a 52-week high of Rs 968.20 per share on the BSE. The company specializes in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services, particularly focusing on infrastructure projects, power transmission, distribution, railways, and other related activities.
