After reaching new record highs in the last trading session, benchmark indices oscillated between modest gains and losses today. In contrast, broader indices traded notably higher. Gains were led by power, utilities, and energy stocks, while banks, financial services, and IT stocks reported considerable losses.

At 10:15 am, the BSE Sensex edged up by 0.04% reaching a level of 81,386. The Nifty 50 index edged up by 0.08% to the 24,855 level. On the Sensex, Power Grid Corporation of India, NTPC Ltd and Tata Motors were among the top gainers, whereas UltraTech Cement, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries and Tata Consultancy Services were among the market draggers.

Some of the noteworthy volume movers are as follows:

  1. PNB Housing Finance Ltd

    Shares of PNB Housing Finance Ltd experienced a massive surge in trading volume but failed to gain positive momentum, dropping over 2% to an intraday low of Rs 775 per share on the BSE. The company provides various loans to retail customers, encompassing individual home loans, loan against property, non-resident property loans, and more.

  2. Gujarat Themis Biosyn Ltd

    Shares of Gujarat Themis Biosyn Ltd saw a fivefold increase in trading volume but faced selling pressure from investors, resulting in a decline of more than 2% to an intraday low of Rs 485 per share on the BSE. The company is engaged in the manufacturing and sale of finished Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) through the fermentation process.

  3. Jindal Saw Ltd

    Shares of Jindal Saw Ltd experienced significant buying interest, climbing around 8% to reach a 52-week high of Rs 649 per share on the BSE. The company manufactures SAW pipes (Submerged Arc Welded Pipes) and spiral pipes for the energy transportation sector, carbon, alloy, and seamless pipes and tubes for industrial applications, and Ductile Iron (DI) pipes and fittings for water and wastewater transportation.
