After struggling in early trades, benchmark indices gained momentum later in the trading session, driven by gains in the power, utilities, oil & gas, and metals sectors. Broader indices demonstrated resilience and outperformed the main indices.

At 10:10 am, the BSE Sensex surged 0.27% reaching a level of 81,674. The Nifty 50 index gained 0.32% to the 24,936 level. On the Sensex, NTPC Ltd, Asian Paints and JSW Steel were among the top gainers, whereas Power Grid Corporation of India, Tata Motors and Axis Bank were among the market draggers.

Some of the noteworthy volume movers are as follows:

  1. Automobile Corporation of Goa Ltd

    Shares of Automobile Corporation of Goa Ltd experienced a ninefold surge in trading volume, attracting significant buying interest and reaching the 20% upper circuit limit at Rs 2,861 per share on the BSE, marking a new 52-week high. As one of the first major engineering units established in Goa, the company produces sheet metal components, assemblies, and bus coaches at its factories.

  2. Suven Pharmaceuticals Ltd

    Shares of Suven Pharmaceuticals Ltd saw a fourfold rise in trading volume, climbing more than 12% today to reach a new 52-week high of Rs 1,070 per share on the BSE. The company, a CDMO (Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization), provides services to leading global pharmaceutical and fine chemical companies, ranging from process research and development to late-stage clinical and commercial manufacturing.

  3. Torrent Power Ltd

    Shares of Torrent Power Ltd experienced a four times surge in trading volume, leading to more than 10% rally as the shares reached a new 52-week high of Rs 1,779.95 per share on the BSE. As a leading integrated power utility company in India, Torrent Power operates across the generation, transmission, and distribution sectors. Its operations span the states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Karnataka.
