Although domestic indices began today’s trading session on a notably higher note, they relinquished all initial gains to trade lower, affected by downturns in the oil & gas, energy, FMCG, and auto sectors. Conversely, broader indices exhibited significant outperformance compared to the main indices.

At 10:55 am, the BSE Sensex declined 0.42% reaching a level of 73,559. The Nifty 50 index tumbled 0.47% to the 22,329 level. On the Sensex, NTPC Ltd, HDFC Bank and Power Grid Corporation of India were among the top gainers. In contrast, IndusInd Bank, Sun Pharmaceuticals, and Bharti Airtel were among the market draggers.

The trading volume of KEC International Ltd witnessed an impressive 16-fold increase as its shares soared by over 15%, reaching a 52-week high of Rs 838.25 per share on the BSE. The company specializes in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services, particularly on infrastructure projects, power transmission, distribution, railways, and other related activities.

  1. Suyog Gurbaxani Funicular Ropeways Ltd

Suyog Gurbaxani Funicular Ropeways Ltd experienced a significant surge in trading volume, leading its shares to hit the upper circuit of 5% at Rs 113.60 per share on the BSE. The company specializes in designing, engineering, procuring, financing, constructing, operating, and maintaining funicular ropeways on a build, operate & transfer basis. Presently, the company is engaged in an infrastructural development project.

  1. Cello World Ltd

Cello World Ltd witnessed a notable rise in trading volume, propelling its shares to gain momentum amid an otherwise sluggish market. The stock surged by over 1%, reaching an intraday high of Rs 808 per share on the BSE. As a leading Indian consumer product company, Cello World Ltd primarily specializes in writing instruments and stationery, moulded furniture, consumer housewares, and related products.
