Indian benchmark indices faced significant selling pressure, plunging around 3% amidst heightened volatility due to uncertainty surrounding the outcome of the Lok Sabha elections. Broader indices also dropped around 4% each, reflecting bearish investor sentiment. The FMCG, healthcare, and information technology sectors were the least affected.

At 10:55 am, the BSE Sensex plunged 3.86% reaching a level of 73,518. The Nifty 50 index slumped 3.92% to the 22,355 level. On the Sensex, Hindustan Unilever Ltd, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries and Nestle India were among the top gainers, whereas NTPC Ltd, Power Grid Corporation of India and State Bank of India were among the market draggers.

  1. Moschip Technologies Ltd

    In a notably bearish market, shares of Moschip Technologies Ltd surged more than 9%, driven by a sixfold increase in trading volume, reaching an intraday high of Rs 155.20 per share on the BSE. It is a semiconductor and system design company specializing in mixed signal IP, semiconductor and product engineering, and IoT solutions. The company serves various sectors, including aerospace and defence, consumer electronics, automotive, medical, and networking and telecommunications.

  2. Dabur India Ltd

    In today’s trading session, shares of Dabur India Ltd experienced a notable surge in trading volume, climbing approximately 5% to reach an intraday high of Rs 573.20 per share on the BSE. The company is a leading player in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector, specializing in consumer care and food products.

  3. Gujarat Industries Power Co Ltd

    Shares of Gujarat Industries Power Co Ltd faced heavy selling pressure, plunging more than 10% to an intraday low of Rs 187 per share on the BSE. The company is engaged in electrical power generation, with a diversified portfolio that includes thermal (gas and lignite), wind, and solar power plant assets in the state of Gujarat.
