Following the achievement of new all-time highs in the previous trading session, domestic indices encountered challenges in gaining momentum today. Nevertheless, the metals, telecommunications, and capital goods sectors made notable gains, attempting to uplift market sentiment.

At 10:30 am, the BSE Sensex edged down by 0.01% reaching a level of 74,080. The Nifty 50 index edged up by 0.05% to the 22,484 level. On the Sensex, Tata Steel, JSW Steel, and Bajaj Finance were among the top gainers, whereas Mahindra & Mahindra, ITC Ltd, and Maruti Suzuki were among the market draggers.

SBFC Finance Ltd

The shares of SBFC Finance Ltd experienced a notable increase in trading volume, but encountered heavy selling pressure, leading to a significant decline of more than 11%. This drop saw the shares reach an intraday low of Rs 80.94 per share on the BSE. The company is a non-banking financial company (NBFC) specializing in providing secured MSME loans and loans against gold.

IIFL Finance Ltd

Shares of IIFL Finance Ltd experienced a remarkable 16-fold rise in trading volume today, resulting in a significant surge of around 10%. This rally comes after the shares hit a 52-week low of Rs 382.80 in the previous trading session. IIFL Finance Ltd is a diversified non-banking financial company (NBFC) in India, involved in providing various financial products including home loans, gold loans, business loans, microfinance, and capital market finance.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd saw a notable 11-fold increase in trading volume, yet its shares were trading down by over 3% and reached an intraday low of Rs 1,885 per share on the BSE. The company stands as one of India’s most diversified automobile companies, with a presence spanning various segments including two-wheelers, three-wheelers, passenger vehicles (PVs), commercial vehicles (CVs), tractors, and earthmovers.
