Wipro Limited announced that it has been engaged by JFK International Air Terminal (JFKIAT), the operator of Terminal 4 at JFK Airport, to assist in achieving its net-zero emissions goals.
Wipro Consulting’s sustainability team was chosen to evaluate the terminal’s greenhouse gas emissions, devise a carbon reduction strategy, and prepare the 2023 sustainability report in alignment with JFKIAT’s green initiatives. JFKIAT aims to cut Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 50% before 2030 and achieve complete reduction by 2050.
Wipro’s work for JFKIAT focused on 3 key areas:
Susan Kenniston, Vice President and Global Head of Wipro’s Sustainability Domain and Consulting, stated, “Our partnership with JFKIAT has shaped Wipro’s airport decarbonisation strategies and ACA report accelerators. As airports increasingly prioritise sustainability, our expertise will enable clients to create intelligent, hyper-connected airports that minimise environmental impact as passenger numbers grow.”
Roel Huinink, CEO of JFKIAT, added, “Sustainability is a core part of JFKIAT’s mission, and Wipro’s efforts are helping us lead the way in the aviation sector. We are excited to continue this partnership to further reduce emissions and create a greener, more sustainable terminal.”
