According to the AMFI portal’s monthly report for November 2024, there are 270 open-ended index mutual funds listed, highlighting the broad range of options available to investors in the index fund category.
These funds, which include popular indices like Nifty, Sensex, and sectoral or thematic indices, mobilised ₹8,214.45 crore during the month, with a net inflow of ₹4,342.84 crore. The Assets Under Management (AUM) for index funds as of November 2024 stands at ₹2,73,175.07 crore, reflecting the growing prominence of passive investment strategies in the Indian mutual fund industry.
