In fiscal 2024, the growth of Systematic Investment Plans (SIPs) in India has been remarkable, reflecting a surge in retail participation in mutual funds.
Net inflows reached nearly ₹2 lakh crore, up from ₹1.55 lakh crore in the previous year. Monthly contributions hit new highs throughout the year, crossing ₹21,000 crore in June and reaching ₹25,323 crore in October. In November, contributions remained steady at ₹25,320 crore, with SIP accounts surpassing 10.22 crore, adding 10.32 lakh new accounts. This consistent growth highlights the increasing popularity of SIPs as one of the preferred investment options for wealth creation in India.
There are several types of SIP mutual funds and large-cap SIPs are one of the popular investment choices. These SIPs invest in large-cap companies and can be ideal for conservative investors looking for steady growth, as they leverage the financial strength and market dominance of blue-chip companies.
