On July 15, 2024, Zen Technologies officially launched four innovative products in collaboration with its subsidiary, AI Turing Technologies, based in Pune. This significant announcement showcases the company’s commitment to advancing defence capabilities through proprietary technology.
The new products—Hawkeye, Barbarik-URCWS (Ultralight Remote Control Weapon Station), Prahasta, and Sthir Stab 640—address a diverse range of defence needs, equipping military forces with unparalleled tactical advantages and heightened operational efficiency.
- Hawkeye (zen.in/hawkeye) represents a cutting-edge anti-drone system that features advanced camera technology equipped with multiple sensor detection modules. This system enables all-weather drone tracking capabilities, effectively monitoring aerial threats from distances of up to 15 kilometres. By ensuring continuous surveillance, Hawkeye significantly enhances security measures.
- Barbarik – URCWS (zen.in/urcws) is touted as the lightest remote-controlled weapon station globally, designed for precise targeting with calibres ranging from 5.56mm to 7.62mm. It is ideal for ground vehicles and naval vessels, thus maximising battlefield efficiency while reducing the risk to personnel. Recent firing trials conducted at Infantry School Mhow and Armoured School Ahmednagar have demonstrated the URCWS’s reliable performance.
- Prahasta (zen.in/prahasta) is an innovative automated quadruped that utilises LIDAR technology and reinforcement learning to create real-time 3D terrain maps. This capability is crucial for effective mission planning, navigation, and threat assessment. The quadruped can be armed with various calibre weapons, including 9mm, 5.56mm, and 7.62mm, making it an invaluable asset during critical operations, such as counter-insurgency missions.
- Sthir Stab 640 (zen.in/sthirstab640) is a robustly stabilised sight designed specifically for armoured vehicles, Infantry Combat Vehicles (ICVs), and naval crafts. This sight features an intelligent fibre optic gyro-stabilisation system, providing exceptional situational awareness with automatic search and tracking functionalities. It is compatible with multiple weapon mounts, accommodating calibres from 7.62mm to 30mm.
“These innovations represent a significant advancement in autonomous defence operations. We believe the launch of these products will raise awareness around the need to integrate advanced robotics into combat and reconnaissance missions. Our self-funded products will further enable Zen to offer an expanded range of cutting-edge technologies to both current and prospective clients,” said Zen Technologies’ Chairman and Managing Director, Ashok Atluri.
