The mutual fund industry witnessed total inflows of ₹60,295 crore in November 2024. This marked a significant decline compared to ₹2.4 lakh crore recorded in October as per data provided by the Association of Mutual Funds (AMFI). Various categories, including actively managed equity funds, hybrid funds, and debt funds, experienced varied performances. Here’s a detailed breakdown of the inflows:

Actively Managed Equity Funds

Actively managed equity mutual funds saw inflows of ₹35,943.49 crore in November, a 14% drop from October’s ₹41,800 crore. Key highlights from this category:

  • Large-Cap Funds: Inflows were ₹2,547.9 crore, down from ₹3,452 crore in October.
  • Mid-Cap Funds: November inflows stood at ₹4,883.4 crore, slightly higher than October’s ₹4,683 crore.
  • Small-Cap Funds: Inflows of ₹4,111.8 crore in November showed an increase from ₹3,772 crore in October.
  • Flexi-Cap Funds: This category attracted ₹5,084.1 crore in inflows during November.
  • Multi-Cap Funds: Inflows stood at ₹3,626 crore for the month.

The Sectoral and Thematic Funds category, with the largest assets under management, recorded inflows of ₹7,657.7 crore in November, a decline from ₹12,278 crore in October.

Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) Contributions

SIP contributions remained consistent, recording ₹25,320 crore in November, slightly lower than ₹25,322.74 crore in October 2024. 

Debt Funds

Debt mutual funds recorded inflows of ₹12,915.9 crore in November, a stark decline from the ₹1.57 lakh crore inflow seen in October. Key details include:

  • Overnight Funds: Inflows stood at ₹2,019.3 crore.
  • Liquid Funds: These saw outflows of ₹1,778.9 crore, reflecting the volatile nature of short-term investments.

New Fund Offerings (NFOs)

The mutual fund industry saw 18 NFO launches in November, contributing ₹4,052 crore. Highlights include:

  • Passive Funds: Dominated by index funds, NFOs in this category accounted for ₹6,078 crore in inflows in October, with 11 launches.
  • Actively Managed Equity Funds: NFO inflows accounted for more than 8.6% of the total inflows in November.

Hybrid and Passive Funds

Hybrid schemes recorded inflows of ₹4,123.7 crore in November, a significant drop from ₹16,863 crore in October. Key performers include:

  • Multi-Asset Allocation Funds: Inflows of ₹2,443.8 crore were the highest in this category.
  • Arbitrage Funds: These accounted for the most inflows the previous month.

Passive funds saw inflows of ₹7,061.3 crore in November, down from ₹23,428 crore in October. The index category led the inflows with ₹4,342.8 crore.
