A Leap Towards Sustainability

Geoclean, the waste management arm of ACC and Ambuja Cements, has taken a significant leap forward in sustainable waste management by introducing two innovative facilities. These facilities, the Ambuja Marwar Pre-processing and Co-processing Facility, and the ACC Jamul Co-processing Facility, signify a major advancement in the utilization of waste-derived fuels and the promotion of Thermal Substitution Rate (TSR) to enhance sustainability.

Revolutionizing Waste Management

The Ambuja Marwar Pre-processing and Co-processing Facility are set to revolutionize waste management by converting 2,20,000 tons of waste into alternative fuels annually. This initiative not only promotes sustainable waste management but also boosts the plant’s TSR to an impressive 15%. Collaborating with the Ambuja Marwar Farmer Producer Organization (FPO), the facility will source and supply 50,000 tons of agro-waste, providing an alternative livelihood for local communities.

Enhancing Co-processing Capacities

Simultaneously, the ACC Jamul Co-processing Facility will facilitate the co-processing of an additional 1,20,000 tons of alternative fuel annually, further increasing the plant’s TSR to 10%. Co-processing waste in cement kilns not only recovers energy but also recycles minerals inherent in waste, leading to resource conservation and a significant reduction in CO2 emissions.

Geoclean’s Leadership in Sustainable Waste Management

Geoclean, an integral part of the Adani Group’s Cement Business, is at the forefront of providing sustainable waste management solutions. With state-of-the-art technology, Geoclean expertly co-processes waste from municipal, agricultural, and industrial sectors, contributing to a regenerative circular economy.

Strategic Expansion and Aspirations

With the integration of these new facilities, Geoclean will manage a total of 7 pre-processing units and 13 co-processing units with enhanced capacities. This strategic expansion aligns perfectly with their roadmap to achieve an impressive 25% TSR by 2027-28, solidifying their position as industry leaders in sustainable waste management.

Leadership’s Perspective

Mr. Ajay Kapur, CEO of the Cement Business, emphasized the significance of sustainable waste management as a cornerstone of responsible business. He highlighted the company’s commitment to innovation and collaboration to set new industry benchmarks, aiming for a world where progress and preservation go hand-in-hand.

Conclusion: A Greener Future

The launch of the Ambuja Marwar Pre-processing and Co-processing Facility and the ACC Jamul Co-processing Facility marks a significant milestone in sustainable waste management. These initiatives exemplify Geoclean’s dedication to actively contributing to environmental betterment, reinforcing the mission to create a greener and more sustainable world for current and future generations. Through innovation and collaboration, Geoclean continues to shape a future where sustainability and progress are intertwined.
