On May 13, 2024, Bharti Airtel announced that it had entered into a long-term partnership with Google Cloud to provide cloud solutions to Indian businesses. The strategic partnership will provide cutting-edge cloud solutions from Google Cloud to fast-track cloud adoption and modernisation for Airtel’s customers.
Additionally, Airtel aims to offer a range of cloud-managed services to its clientele, which comprises more than 2,000 large enterprises and one million emerging businesses. This collaboration targets the expansive and burgeoning Indian public cloud services sector, which IDC forecasts will hit $17.8 billion by 2027.
The two companies will combine their unique connectivity and AI technology strengths to develop industry-leading AI/ML solutions that Airtel will train on its large data set. These distinctive offerings will enhance the value proposition for Airtel’s clients, encompassing geospatial analytics solutions featuring sophisticated location intelligence for trend analysis, predictive modelling, market evaluation, site identification, risk mitigation, and asset monitoring.
Additionally, voice analytics solutions will enable enhanced conversational applications across various languages, while marketing technology solutions will predict consumer behaviour, facilitate custom audience segmentation, and optimise content creation through precise contextual advertising at lower expenses.
Furthermore, Airtel has developed an end-to-end IoT solution designed for the utility sector that combines connectivity, Google Cloud services, and application software under one offering, enabling seamless, hassle-free, and faster deployment.
Airtel has established a managed services centre in Pune, equipped with over 300 experts undergoing comprehensive training to lead in Google Cloud services and innovate top-tier technological solutions. Harnessing Google Cloud’s advanced AI capabilities, Airtel aims to revolutionise customer interactions and experiences across its mobile, broadband, and digital TV services while optimising internal operations. These capabilities will also be extended to Airtel’s B2B clientele both domestically and internationally.
Speaking of this collaboration, the MD and CEO of Bharti Airtel, Gopal Vittal, said, “As India accelerates its digital transformation, cutting-edge cloud and AI solutions will be at the heart and centre of this change. We are happy to partner with Google Cloud and jointly address this market opportunity with secure and scalable Cloud solutions for government, enterprises, and emerging businesses. Together, we will also accelerate the deployment of gen AI in the country and unlock its potential to solve problems.”
The CEO of Google Cloud, Thomas Kurian, said, “Our strategic collaboration with Airtel marks a significant milestone towards our commitment to accelerate cloud and AI adoption in India.
