BSE Share Price Trades 6% Higher on January 15, 2025

BSE shares rose 6.05% to ₹5,778.30 with 23.15 lakh shares traded, while the Sensex gained 302.48 points to 76,812.49, as the stock’s P/E ratio stood at 100.34x.

On January 15, 2025, the BSE share price was trading up by 6.05% at ₹5,778.0 as of 11:58 AM (IST), marking its second consecutive session of gains. Meanwhile, the BSE benchmark Sensex rose by 302.48 points to reach 76,802.35. The BSE share price had previously hit a 52-week high of ₹5,837.95 on December 20, 2024, and a 52-week low of ₹1,941.05 on March 19, 2024.

As per NSE data, the total traded volume for the stock stood at 23.15 lakh shares, with a turnover of ₹1,320.23 crore. At the current price, BSE shares are trading at a price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 100.34x, based on trailing 12-month earnings per share (EPS) of ₹61.09, and a price-to-book (P/B) ratio of 18.93.

Shareholding Details

As of September 30, 2024, Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) held a 13.01% stake in BSE shares, Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) owned 11.68%, and retail investors accounted for 52.40% of the ownership.

BSE Q2 FY25 Results

BSE reported a threefold increase in net profit to ₹346 crore for the September quarter, compared to ₹118 crore in the same period last year, according to a company statement.

The exchange’s total revenue more than doubled to ₹819 crore in Q2 FY25, up from ₹367 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. BSE also recorded its highest-ever half-year revenue and profit of ₹1,493 crore and ₹610 crore, respectively.

Additionally, the average daily turnover in the equity cash segment rose to ₹9,768 crore during Q2 FY25, compared to ₹5,922 crore in the same quarter last year.
