French automaker Citroen informed that the company has plans to scale up the sales network in India to more than 200 outlets by the end of 2024, which is a three-fold jump from its current touchpoints.

Citroen India released a statement that adding new dealerships across urban, rural and semi-urban markets will immensely improve the company’s footprint from its existing 58 outlets spread across the country.

The Brand Director of Citroen India, Shishir Mishra, stated, “We are looking to aggressively make Citroen available to consumers and extend the potential of our products beyond Tier I/Tier II cities.”

The company is focussing on extending to Tier III and Tier IV markets, strategically chosen for their proximity to Tier I and Tier II cities and their potential for substantial growth. By investing in these regions, the French automaker aspires not only to capture emerging opportunities but also to contribute to the socio-economic development of smaller urban centres. This will foster prosperity and inclusivity across diverse geographical landscapes.

Earlier this year, Stellantis, a leading automaker in the world which also provides innovative mobility solutions, announced an additional investment of ₹2,000 crore in India for its Citroen brand. Another famous brand under Stellantis is Maserati. Stellantis is also planning to relaunch Fiat in India.

On Monday, the French carmaker reportedly joined hands with Indian EV company BluSmart Mobility to expand the latter’s electric vehicle fleet in India. BluSmart Mobility and Citroen have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to confirm the supply of 4,000 Citroen e-C3, all-electric compact SUV units, over a year.

In the first phase, 125 Citroen e-C3 were launched from BluSmart Mobility’s EV charging superhub in Bengaluru. The new Citroen compact SUV will expand BluSmart’s growing fleet of more than 7,000 EVs.
