On January 13, 2025, HDFC Bank share price trades down by 1.18% at 10:26 AM (IST) at ₹1,637.65, while the BSE benchmark Sensex ended down by 402.37 points to 76,976.54. HDFC Bank’s share price reached a 52-week high of ₹1,880.00 on December 09, 2024, and a 52-week low of ₹1,363.45.25 on February 14, 2024. As per BSE, the total traded volume for the stock stood at 1.02 lakh shares with a turnover of ₹16.66 crore.

At the current price, HDFC Bank shares are trading at a price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 19.24x, based on its trailing 12-month earnings per share (EPS) of ₹86.14, and a price-to-book (P/B) ratio of 2.75, according to exchange data.

Shareholding Details

As of December 31, 2024, Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) held a 49.21% stake in HDFC Bank shares, while Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) owned 34.27%, and the public (Retailers) held 16.23%.

HDFC Bank Q2 FY25 Results

HDFC Bank reported an increase in net profit to ₹16,821 crore for Q2 FY25, surpassing Street expectations.

India’s largest private sector lender also posted a rise in net interest income (NII) to ₹30,114 crore. The bank’s core net interest margin (NIM) stood at 3.46% on total assets and 3.65% on interest-earning assets, according to its stock exchange filing.

Other income (non-interest revenue) for the quarter ended September 30, 2024, was ₹11,480 crore, up from ₹10,710 crore in the same period a year ago.
