On Wednesday, Indian Hotels Company shares were trading at its 52-week high of Rs 440.55, a surge of 1.40% from its previous closing of Rs 434.50 on the BSE.

Best Hotel Company status 

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has been recognized among the ‘Best Hotel Companies in the World’ at the esteemed 101 Executive Summit held in Germany with Taj being ranked the best in the ‘World’s Finest Luxury Grand Palaces’ category.

Intrinsically bound with the country’s history, Taj hotels have long been heralded as a purveyor of Indian heritage. With its presence in key historic destinations such as Udaipur, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Gwalior, Hyderabad, Varanasi and Mumbai; the brand focuses on conserving the cultural heritage of the regions.

Company profile 

Incorporated in 1903, Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) is promoted by Tata Sons Pvt Limited. It has long-standing operations spanning over 100 years and operates the largest chain of hotels in South Asia. IHCL, its subsidiaries and associates are widely recognised under the umbrella brand name ‘Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces’, which has 249 hotels with a room inventory of 33,239 rooms (With Pipeline) globally across four continents, 12 countries and in over 125+ locations. This includes a presence in India, North America, the UK, Africa, the Middle East, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bhutan, and Nepal.

Stock price movement

Today, the stock closed at Rs 438, up by 0.81% from its previous closing. The scrip opened at Rs 436.70 and touched a high and low of Rs 440.55 and Rs 434.10, respectively. The BSE group ‘A’ stock of face value of Rs 1 has a 52-week high and low of Rs 440.55 and Rs 280.20, respectively. Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 440.55 and Rs 418.20, respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 62,213.53 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 38.19%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 45.43% and 16.38%, respectively.
