JSW Neo Energy Limited, a subsidiary of JSW Energy Limited, has secured a Letter of Award (LoA) from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) to develop a 200 MW wind-solar hybrid power project. This project is part of MSEDCL’s Phase III competitive bidding process.
With the addition of this capacity, JSW Energy’s total locked-in generation capacity now stands at 17.2 GW, including 2.9 GW of hybrid capacity. The company is on track to achieve an installed capacity of 10 GW by the end of FY25, up from the current 7.5 GW. This project aligns with JSW Energy’s strategic focus on expanding its energy solutions offerings and transitioning towards a comprehensive energy products and services business.
JSW Energy’s portfolio includes a diverse mix of renewable and conventional power generation assets. The company’s total locked-in generation capacity comprises 7.5 GW of operational plants, 2.3 GW under construction, and a renewable energy pipeline of 7.3 GW. Additionally, JSW Energy has secured 4.2 GWh of locked-in energy storage capacity through battery energy storage and hydro-pumped storage projects.
Looking ahead, the company has set ambitious targets to reach 20 GW of generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by 2030. JSW Energy is also committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, reflecting its dedication to sustainable and responsible energy practices.
