On August 29, 2023, JSW Energy Limited announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary JSW Neo Energy Limited (JSW Neo) has secured an additional 400 MW of Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Project under the greenshoe option from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) against MSEDCL – Phase III. This brings the total capacity allotted to JSW Neo under Phase III to 600 MW.
With this capacity award, JSW Energy’s total locked-in generation capacity has increased to 17.6 GW, including a total locked-in Hybrid capacity of 3.2 GW (including FDRE). The company anticipates reaching an installed generation capacity of 10 GW by FY25, up from the current 7.5 GW. This project reinforces the company’s energy solution offerings and supports its strategic shift towards becoming an energy products and services company.
JSW Energy boasts a total locked-in generation capacity of 17.6 GW, comprising 7.5 GW operational, 2.3 GW under construction across wind, thermal, and hydro, and a renewable energy pipeline of 7.7 GW (PPAs signed for 2.3 GW). Additionally, the company has secured 4.2 GWh of locked-in energy storage capacity through battery energy storage systems and hydro-pumped storage projects. JSW Energy is committed to reaching a generation capacity of 20 GW and an energy storage capacity of 40 GWh by 2030. The company has set a challenging target of achieving Carbon Neutrality by 2050.
