Mahindra & Mahindra has unveiled a state-of-the-art Electric Vehicle (EV) manufacturing and battery assembly facility at its Chakan plant in Pune, India. Alongside this milestone, Mahindra has announced the launch of premium electric SUVs—BE 6 and XEV 9e—showcasing its commitment to innovation and sustainable mobility.
Located within Mahindra’s 2.83 km² manufacturing hub, the Chakan plant integrates cutting-edge technology with sustainable practices. It operates entirely on renewable energy and is designed to be water-positive, reinforcing Mahindra’s focus on efficiency, safety, and environmental responsibility.
Mahindra’s Chakan facility also houses one of the world’s most compact and advanced battery manufacturing setups. It focuses on producing high-performance, long-lasting batteries using patented insulation and geometric designs.
Mahindra has announced the prices for its premium electric SUVs, BE 6 and XEV 9e, starting at ₹18.90 lakh and ₹21.90 lakh, respectively. The top-end Pack Three variants are priced at ₹26.9 lakh for BE 6 and ₹30.5 lakh for XEV 9e, featuring a monthly EMI option through Mahindra Finance’s “Three for Me” programme.
