State-owned MOIL Ltd announced on Saturday (February 1) that it has achieved its highest-ever production and sales for January in fiscal year 2025 (FY25). The company made this disclosure in a filing with the stock exchanges.

17% Increase in January Sales Over Last Year

In January, MOIL produced 1.6 lakh tonnes of manganese ore, while sales reached 1.57 lakh tonnes, reflecting a 17% year-on-year increase. The company’s exploratory core drilling activity for the month reached 11,099 meters, a 10% rise compared to the previous year.

Year-to-Date Production and Sales Growth

For the April–January FY25 period, MOIL recorded a total production of 14.9 lakh tonnes, marking a 4% increase year-on-year. Total sales stood at 12.96 lakh tonnes, reflecting a 5% growth. Additionally, the company’s exploratory core drilling during this period amounted to 83,439 meters, demonstrating a 17.6% increase over the previous year.

CMD Ajit Kumar Saxena Praises Operational Excellence

Ajit Kumar Saxena, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of MOIL, commented on the achievement, stating, “This remarkable achievement reflects MOIL’s commitment to operational excellence and growth. We are confident that the company will continue its upward trajectory and maintain the momentum in the coming months.”

MOIL Revises Manganese Ore Prices for 2025

In a related update, MOIL revised the prices of its manganese ore, effective January 1, 2025. The prices of all ferro grades of manganese ore with a manganese content of Mn-44% and above were increased by 1% over the prevailing prices. Similarly, the prices of all other ferro grades with a manganese content below Mn-44% were raised by 5%.

Price Hike for Silico Manganese and Chemical Grades

The prices of silico manganese grades (SMGR) such as Mn-30%, Mn-25%, and Mn-20%, as well as fines and chemical grades, also saw a 5% price hike.

Additionally, the company decided to maintain the basic price of electrolytic manganese dioxide (EMD) at ₹205,000 per metric tonne (PMT) for January.

Stock Performance 

On February 03, 2025, MOIL share price traded 0.52% higher at ₹311.20 at 11:07 AM (IST). MOIL’s share price reached a 52-week high of ₹588.35 on July 08, 2024, and a 52-week low of ₹259.50 on February 02, 2024. As per BSE, the total traded volume for the stock stood at 0.80 lakh shares with a turnover of ₹2.51 crore.

At the current price, MOIL shares are trading at a price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 18.13x, based on its trailing 12-month earnings per share (EPS) of ₹17.08, and a price-to-book (P/B) ratio of 2.42, according to exchange data.
