Ola Electric, India’s largest EV manufacturer, has introduced the Gig and S1 Z scooter series, aiming to democratise electric mobility with affordable pricing. The scooters are available at introductory prices starting from ₹39,999, with reservations open for just ₹499. Deliveries will begin in April 2025 for the Gig series and May 2025 for the S1 Z series.
The Ola Gig scooter is built for shorter trips and offers a range of 112 km with a top speed of 25 km/hour. It features a removable 1.5 kWh battery, robust design, and enhanced braking capabilities, priced at ₹39,999.
The Gig+ model caters to longer trips and heavier payloads, offering a range of up to 157 km with dual batteries and a top speed of 45 km/h. It is available at ₹49,999, making it an excellent choice for gig workers handling more extensive delivery requirements.
The S1 Z scooter targets urban commuters with its stylish design, dual 1.5 kWh batteries, and a top speed of 70 km/h. It offers a range of up to 146 km and smooth manoeuvrability, priced at ₹59,999.
The S1 Z+ is designed for both personal and light commercial use. It features a rugged build, higher payload capacity, and a range of up to 146 km with dual batteries. The S1 Z+ is available at an introductory price of ₹64,999.
Ola’s PowerPod is a versatile solution priced at ₹9,999. It uses a 1.5 kWh battery to power small appliances for up to 3 hours, which is ideal for semi-urban and rural areas with inconsistent electricity access.
Ola Electric’s broader lineup includes the premium S1 Pro (₹1,34,999), S1 Air (₹1,07,499), and S1 X series, priced between ₹74,999 and ₹1,01,999. The newly launched Roadster motorcycles, offering advanced features and top-tier performance, start at ₹74,999 for Roadster X models and go up to ₹1,99,999 for premium variants.
Ola Electric focuses on vertically integrated EV manufacturing, including critical components like battery cells, motors, and frames. Its operations are based at the Ola Futurefactory in Tamil Nadu, supported by the Battery Innovation Centre in Bengaluru. With R&D centres in India, the UK, and the US, Ola continues to lead innovation in EV technology while expanding its manufacturing capacity with the upcoming Ola Gigafactory.
