The Ministry of Education has introduced the APAAR ID card, a digital identification card for students enrolled in both private and government institutions or universities across India. This card provides students with access to their academic records, degrees, and other relevant information online.
The APAAR ID card serves as a permanent ID number that tracks a student’s academic journey, and achievements, and makes it easier to transfer between institutions. This card will be issued to students at all educational levels, from pre-primary to higher education, by their respective schools and institutions. It will be provided in addition to the student’s existing Aadhaar ID.
To register for the APAAR ID, students must have a valid Aadhaar card and create an account on DigiLocker, which will be used for e-KYC. Schools and colleges must obtain parental consent before beginning the registration process for their students.
Follow these steps to register and get the APAAR ID card:
Step 1: Visit the Academic Bank of Credit’s (ABC Bank) website.
Step 2: Click on ‘My Account’ and select ‘Student.’
Step 3: To create a DigiLocker account, click ‘Sign Up’ and enter your cellphone number, address, and Aadhaar card details.
Step 4: Log in to your DigiLocker account using your credentials.
Step 5: DigiLocker will ask for permission to share your Aadhaar card details with ABC for KYC verification. Select ‘I Agree.’
Step 6: Enter your academic details, such as the name of your school or university, the course or class, and so on.
Step 7: After submitting the form, your APAAR ID card will be generated.
