Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has been in focus on Friday. On January 3, 2025, ONGC share price opened at ₹248.45, up from its previous close of ₹246.07. At 10:38 AM, the share price of ONGC was trading at ₹251.10, up by 2.04% on the NSE. The market capitalisation of the company was ₹3,15,890.81 crore.
On January 2, 2025, the company announced that in compliance with SEBI regulations, Shri Arunangshu Sarkar, Director (Strategy & Corporate Affairs), has been given additional charge of Director (Technology & Field Services) for three months starting January 1, 2025. The appointment, issued by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, will continue until a regular appointment is made or further orders are given.
For the second quarter (Q2) of FY’25, the company reported gross revenue of ₹33,881 crore, which is a 3.6% decrease compared to ₹35,162 crore in FY’24. However, for the first half (H1) of FY’25, gross revenue stood at ₹69,146 crore, showing a marginal increase of 0.2% from ₹68,977 crore in H1 FY’24. The net profit for Q2 FY’25 was ₹11,984 crore, reflecting a 17.1% growth compared to ₹10,238 crore in the same quarter of FY’24. For H1 FY’25, the net profit was ₹20,922 crore, slightly up by 0.8% from ₹20,765 crore in H1 FY’24.
ONGC is the largest crude oil and natural gas company in India. The company contributes around 71% to Indian domestic production.
