Share Market Pre Open Updates – March 04, 2024

Special trading sessions occurred on Saturday, March 2, 2024, one from 9:15 AM to 10 AM and another from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, shorter than usual. The Nifty 50 slightly rose by 0.18%, reaching 22,378, while the Sensex increased by 0.08%, closing at 73,806. Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) sold off about ₹81 crores worth of investments, whereas Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) saw a sell-off of ₹44 crores.

On March 2, 2024, Nifty Media, Nifty Metal, Nifty Consumer Durables, and Nifty Realty saw increases, while Nifty Private Bank experienced a decline. Focusing on individual movers, Havells India, Tata Steel, Varun Beverages, and IOC emerged as the leading gainers. In contrast, Info Edge, Pidilite Industries, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Maruti Suzuki were the primary losers.

• Torrent Power has secured an order worth up to ₹2,700 crore from the Railway Energy Management Company, leading to a nearly 7% increase in its stock price, closing at ₹1,150. 
• Despite the Financial Intelligence Unit imposing a ₹5 crore fine on Paytm Payments Bank, Paytm’s stock still rose by approximately 3%, closing at ₹414.
