Nifty 50 and Sensex witnessed a fall of 0.56% and 0.62%, closing at 22,023 and 72,643, respectively. Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) bought securities worth ₹848 crore, and Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) sold securities worth ₹682 crore.
Nifty Metal and Nifty FMCG witnessed gains when it came to sectoral overview, while Nifty Oil & Gas, Nifty Auto, Nifty Pharma and Nifty Healthcare experienced a decline. Zomato, UPL, Ambuja Cement and Adani Total Gas were the top gainers. On the other hand, IOC, Mahindra & Mahindra, TVS Motor and Bharat Petroleum Corporation were the top losers.
