On June 26, Radisson Group issued a press release of its latest announcement of the signing of 10 new hotels in just 4 days. These signings took place across 4 brands of the group including Radisson Blu, Radisson, Radisson Individuals, and its brand extension Radisson Individuals Retreats. The group had also entered 5 new markets with this signing and will be the first to open internationally branded hotels in Jawai (Rajasthan), Sagar (Madhya Pradesh), Yavatmal (Maharashtra), Ooty (Tamil Nadu) and Calicut (Kerala).
Radisson Group made a pioneering move with the signing of Radisson Blu Hotel at the Nathdwara Stadium in Rajasthan. What’s innovative is that the hotel is India’s first Cricket Stadium Hotel, with 75% of its rooms offering exclusive views of the main cricket field. This will provide an unparalleled view for sports and leisure enthusiasts.
The Radisson brand is the fastest-growing upscale brand in the group’s portfolio both globally and in India. Under the Radisson brand, the group has signed 2 projects, one in Mohali and the other in Sagar. Additionally, to expand its footprint in Southern India, the group has also signed Park Inn & Suites by Radisson in Calicut.
The brand has its selling point in bringing hotels with unique personalities and characteristics that offer its guests opportunities to discover new locations and receive high-quality standards of service. Under the 10 signings, Radisson Group also included 3 conversions in Yavatmal, Udaipur, and Gwalior. In Yatvamal, the Jasraj Palace is signed to become the first internationally branded hotel in the district. Parallel Hotel Udaipur, a member of Radisson Individuals is a design-led hotel in Udaipur where each room will feature a unique design theme. In Gwalior, the brand will open its third hotel and will further engrave its 12th property in the state of Madhya Pradesh.
This brand under the Radisson group is known for the worldly experiences it offers guests. Famous for its experiential hospitality this brand has now extended its properties in the city of Jawai and Ooty. The Aaramgarh Jawai Resort and Spa will offer wildlife experiences in India’s only Leopard Sanctuary, while the Nilgiris Ooty Resort will provide breathtaking views of the Nilgiris Mountains.
Radisson Hotel Group is a well-known global hotel chain with a presence of 180+ hotels in India under development or operation. It competes with international and domestic chains in India such as Hilton, Taj Hotels, Marriott, Lemon Tree Hotels etc. While Mariott leads with its image as the world’s biggest and most luxurious chain, Radisson’s brand offerings range from luxury to midscale hotels. In comparison with the strong loyalty and brand prestige of Taj Hotels and Oberoi, Radisson’s adaptability in Tier 2 and 3 markets and strategic growth plans position it to be a formidable competitor in the Indian hospitality landscape. The group currently serves in 70+ locations in India with a hotel every 4 hours of drivable distance.
Conclusion: In the wake of these signings, Radisson Group continues to command its leading presence in the Indian market. The latest signings mark the group’s rapid expansion of its portfolio in South Asia and its growth journey with its existing and new partners.
