On June 21, 2024, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited announced that the South Eastern Railway’s Electrical Headquarters identified it as the Lowest Bidder (L1). The project involves the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of a 132 KV Traction Substation, Sectioning posts (SPs), and Sub-sectioning posts (SSPs) in a 2x25KV System on the Rajkhaswan-Nayagarh-Bolani section of the Chakradharpur division of the South Eastern Railway, aiming to achieve a loading target of 3000MT on an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) basis.
Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) reported a consolidated net profit of ₹478.4 crore for the 4th quarter of the 2023-24 financial year (Q4 FY24), marking a 33% increase from ₹358.5 crore in the same period the previous year. Revenue from operations for the March 2024 quarter reached ₹6,714 crore, a 17.4% rise compared to ₹5,719.8 crore in Q4 FY23.
For the full fiscal year 2024, the company’s revenue grew by 7.9% to ₹21,889.2 crore, while net profit increased by 17.3% to ₹1,574.4 crore.
Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd, established by the Government of India in 2003, specialises in executing various rail projects assigned by the Ministry of Railways. These projects include track doubling, gauge conversion, constructing new railway lines, electrification of railways, building major bridges, developing workshops and production units, and sharing freight revenue with the Railways as outlined in the concession agreement with the Ministry of Railways.
On June 21, 2024, Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd’s share price opened at ₹385.60 and closed at ₹409.90 on the NSE.
