On September 19, 2024, Thomas Cook (India) Limited opened a new franchise outlet in Chromepet, Chennai, to tap into the city’s growing market.
Chromepet is a popular residential area with good access to the airport and major IT and business parks. This new location brings Thomas Cook’s total in Chennai to 9 and 15 across Tamil Nadu.

Recent travel trends from Chennai indicate a shift in customer behaviour, with many now taking multiple trips each year—rising from 2 to 4 or 5 holidays annually. Travellers are also opting for longer stays, extending short trips from 3 days to 5 to 8 days and lengthening longer trips from 5 days to 10 to 15 days. Chennai customers are increasingly well-educated and discerning, seeking authentic local experiences.
