On Friday, the Sensex and Nifty ended the day with minimal changes following the Reserve Bank of India’s decision to maintain the status quo on policy. The Sensex edged up slightly by 0.03%, closing at 74,248.22 points, while the Nifty closed flat at 22,513.70 points.

Among sectors, Nifty Realty, Nifty Bank, Nifty Financial Services, and Nifty PSU Bank saw gains, while Nifty IT, Nifty Media, Nifty Auto, and Nifty Energy lagged.

Top gainers in the Nifty 50 index included Kotak Bank, SBI Life, and HDFC Bank, while Ultratech Cement, Grasim, and Bajaj Auto were among the top losers.

In the broader market, Nifty Midcap saw a moderate increase of 0.56%, while Nifty Smallcap surged by 0.84%. The Midcap index continued its outperformance, marking its 10th consecutive day of gains. Market breadth favoured advances, with an advance-decline ratio of 3:2.
