On Monday, the benchmark indices were trading in the red with the Sensex down around 201 points or 0.27% at 73,213, while the Nifty-50 was up around 44 points or 0.2% at 22,449. About 1,284 shares have advanced; 2,406 declined; and 179 are unchanged on the BSE.
Top gainers and losers on the BSE Sensex index:
The top Sensex gainers were Nestle India Ltd, Bharti Airtel Ltd and Bajaj Finserv Ltd while the top Sensex losers were Tata Steel Ltd, Power Greed India Ltd and Larsen and Toubro Ltd.
The indices in the broader markets were trading mixed, with the BSE Mid-cap index up 0.36% and the BSE Small-Cap Index down 1.05%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were Torrent Power Ltd and Trent Ltd, while the top small-cap gainers were Cressanda Solutions Ltd and Kirloskar Brothers Ltd.
The BSE Realty Index was the top gaining among the sectoral indices, soaring 0.15% led by Macrotech Developers Ltd and Oberoi Realty Ltd. The BSE Information Technology Index was the top losing sector, down 0.68% dragged down by Newgen Software Technologies Ltd and 63 Moons Technologies Ltd.
In the pre-opening session, these three stocks were trending: NLC India Ltd, Bharti Airtel Ltd and Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd.
