On Friday, the benchmark indices were trading in the green with the Sensex up around 95 points or 0.12% at 76,904, while the Nifty-50 was up around 42 points or 0.18% at 23,440. About 2,297 shares have advanced; 1,208 declined and 165 are unchanged on the BSE.
Top gainers and losers on the BSE Sensex index:
The top Sensex gainers were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, Axis Bank and Titan Company Ltd while the top Sensex losers were HCL Technologies Ltd, Tech Mahindra Ltd and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.
The indices in the broader markets were trading in the green with the BSE Mid-cap index up 0.68% and the BSE Small-Cap Index up 0.95%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were Endurance Technologies Ltd and Oil India Ltd. In contrast, Avantel Ltd and Chemplast Sanmar Ltd were the top small-cap gainers.
The BSE Industrials Index was the top gaining among the sectorial indices and the BSE IT Index was the top losing sector. The BSE Industrials Index gained by 1.10%, up by Honda India Power Products Ltd and Timken India Ltd while the BSE IT Index plunged by 0.60%, down by Mphasis Ltd and Persistent Systems Ltd.
In the pre-opening session, these three stocks were trending: Patel Engineering Ltd, NBCC (India) Ltd and 20 Microns Ltd.
