On Friday, the benchmark indices were trading in the red with the Sensex down around 513 points or 0.70% at 72,582, while the Nifty-50 was down around 183 points or 0.85% at 21,962. About 1,306 shares have advanced; 2,285 declined; and 123 are unchanged on the BSE.
Top gainers and losers on the BSE Sensex index:
The top Sensex gainers were Bajaj Finance Ltd, ITC Ltd and Bharti Airtel Ltd while the top Sensex losers were Tata Motors Ltd, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd and Wipro Ltd.
The indices in the broader markets were trading lower, with the BSE Mid-cap index up 1.45% and the BSE Small-Cap Index down 1.43%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were Endurance Technologies Ltd and Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd, while the top small-cap gainers were Capacite Infraprojects Ltd and Cressanda Solutions Ltd.
All the sectoral indices were trading in the red with The BSE Oil & Gas Index and BSE Energy Index being the top losers. The BSE Oil & Gas Index plunged by 3.10%, up by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd while the BSE Energy Index is down by 2.40% led by Coal India Ltd and Castrol India Ltd.
In the pre-opening session, these three stocks were trending: Paisalo Digital Ltd, Campus Activewear Ltd and PG Electroplast Ltd.
